RSS Feeds and Feed Readers

I have been learning about and using RSS feeds for a few weeks now. RSS feeds are a way to quickly check web sites for updates. You use a RSS feed reader to check for the updates. There are web-based feed readers like Bloglines, Syndic8, and NewsIsFree and stand-alone programs such as SharpReader ,FeedReader and Awasu .

Another option is to use the Firefox browser which has LiveBookmarks and auto-detects RSS feeds. There is also an extension for Firefox called Sage that can be used to check feeds. I prefer to use Sage for my RSS feeds. Finally, another option is to use My Yahoo! which now supports the use of RSS.

A good introduction to RSS can be found on the USA Today website.
