Almanac Weather Predictions

Snowy weather is headed for the Northeast United States. Let's see what the the farmers almanacs have predicted.

The Old Farmer's Almanac: Northeast (Dec. 13-17), very cold then snowstorm. Atlantic Corridor (Dec. 10-14), Flurries, then sunny and cold and (Dec. 15-19) periods of snow and cold.

Farmer's Almanac: Northeastern States (Dec 12-15), snowstorm with significant accumulations as far south as Maryland and Virginia, then fair and cold.

Harris' Farmer's Almanac: Northeast (Dec. 14-16) , warmest days of the month. Also (Dec 16-20), Rain and snow near the cost and mainly snow inland.

Oscar the cat predicts patients' deaths - Yahoo! News: "PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Oscar the cat seems to have an uncanny knack for predicting when nursing home patients are going to die, by curling up next to them during their final hours. His accuracy, observed in 25 cases, has led the staff to call family members once he has chosen someone. It usually means they have less than four hours to live."

Wizards Of Winter Video on Metacafe


Metacafe has a video of this amazing Christmas light display in Mason, OH. It is synchronized to the music of Trans-Siberian Orchestra's "Wizard in Winter".

Snopes.com says "This display was the work of Carson Williams, a Mason, Ohio, electrical engineer who spent about three hours sequencing the 88 Light-O-Rama channels that controlled the 16,000 Christmas lights in his annual holiday lighting spectacular (from Christmas 2004). His 2005 display includes over 25,000 lights that he spent nearly two months hooking up."
